The Story behind Project Hilsa:
The Mawa Highway will connect Southern part of Bangladesh (Khulna & Barisal Division) with Dhaka through the Padma bridge. The construction of the Padma bridge is undergoing and expected to completed by 2022. Earlier than this Mawa Ghat is used as Ferry Terminal for connecting Khulna & Barisal division with Dhaka. The river here is named Padma. Padma produces a large number of fish that people consumes daily in Bangladesh, Hilsa (Locally known as Ilish) is one of the major name out of the numbers. Hilsa is available in Padma, Jamuna, Meghna & in sea as well, But Hilsa that captured from Padma is great in taste & flavor. There is a number of restaurants at the bank of Padma river to serve food to visitors & tourists at Mawa. And Fresh Hilsa fry, Curry & other recipes are very common here as people love to taste Hilsa captured from Padma river. We were impressed by Project Hilsa decorations, Parking arrangement, food quality & concepts. We recommend Project Hilsa if you love to have Thai & Chinese cuisine as well as Hilsa. As mentioned earlier and as expected price is very higher if you compare the pricing with local restaurants. And have to pay additional 15% vat on bill and another 10% as service charge.
